Shimmering Clouds
Solar eclipses are relatively rare in this part of the USA. So, when I heard an eclipse was due on 2002-06-10, I made my way to the roof of the Optics Building at UAH, camera in hand. Alas, massive cloud cover began rolling in just before the late afternoon event, hiding the eclipse from view. As if in recompense, I was able to capture this striking image of sunlight illuminating the offending clouds.
