Parhelia (Sun Dogs)
This is another prime example of the natural beauty that surrounds us on any given day. The two colored spots on either side of the sun are called parhelia or, more commonly, "sun dogs." Parhelia are formed by light from the sun as it is refracted through ice crystals in clouds. I captured this undated image in my own front yard.
